Terms of use

Last updated: 7 July 2026

Purpose

These terms govern the use of Reader's Spirit, a web application for managing a personal library. By creating an account, you accept them.

Account

Registration is by email or via Google. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for the activity carried out from your account. The service is reserved for people aged at least 15.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service for unlawful purposes and not to publish abusive, hateful or misleading content in fields visible to other users (name, biography, quotes, shared collections or lists). In case of abuse, the publisher may suspend or delete the account concerned.

Your content

You remain the owner of the data you add. You grant Reader's Spirit a limited licence, solely to display that content within the service. The book catalogue is a shared reference base common to all users.

Availability and changes

The service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of continuous availability. It is currently free; paid features may be offered in the future, without removing the existing free features.

Intellectual property

The Reader's Spirit brand, design and code are protected. Book metadata comes from third-party sources and may contain inaccuracies.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the security settings. The publisher may terminate an account in case of breach of these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages related to the use of the service, nor for any errors in book metadata sourced from third parties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, the French courts have jurisdiction.
